Dailly set to join Hammers
![]() Harry Redknapp: Rates Christian Dailly highly
Blackburn defender Christian Dailly is to join West Ham, according to Hammers boss Harry Redknapp.
Redknapp had earlier admitted to giving up hope of signing the 27-year-old, believing he would go to Everton instead. But now he says Dailly has agreed a £1.75m deal to move to Upton Park. "He's going to come to West Ham," Redknapp said. "I'm very pleased - he's a good player and a Scottish international. Stronger squad "There was talk of Leicester and Everton being interested and I just left it up to the lad. "I let him make his own decision in his own time. I think the other offers were the same as ours, so it was just a football decision."
Liverpool players Titi Camara and Rigobert Song were the other additions to Redknapp's squad. He said: "We have spent £5m of the Rio Ferdinand money and got three players with that, and I think we've got a better squad." Dailly joined Blackburn from Derby in 1998 in a £5m deal. He could make his first appearance for the Hammers against Charlton next Monday night.
