Roman Bednar leaves West Bromwich Albion for Turkey
Bednar's last appearance for Albion came in last month's loss at Blackburn
West Bromwich Albion striker Roman Bednar has joined Turkish top-flight side MKE Ankaragucu on loan for the rest of the season.
The 27-year-old Czech international, whose Hawthorns deal expires in the summer, has signed with a view to a permanent move.
Bednar was able to complete the switch as the transfer window in Turkey did not close until midnight on Tuesday.
The £2.3m signing from Hearts has made eight appearances for Albion this term.
He initially joined the Baggies on loan from the SPL side in August 2007 and signed a three-year deal after completing a permanent transfer in June 2008.
Bednar scored 11 goals last season to help Albion win promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt after returning from a three-month ban for being in possession of recreational drugs.
But he has slipped down the striking pecking order following the summer arrivals of Peter Odemwingie and Marc-Antoine Fortune and made five appearances during a loan spell at Leicester before Christmas.
