David Burndside
Burnside was known for his ball-juggling skills

Former West Bromwich Albion inside forward David Burnside has died suddenly, aged 69.

He joined the Baggies as an amateur in 1955 and played alongside Sir Bobby Robson and Don Howe.

The former England Under-23 international made 235 appearances, scoring 42 goals, before moving to Southampton for £17,000 in 1962.

He also played for Crystal Palace, Wolves, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol City and Colchester United.

Burnside, who was known for his ball-juggling skills, went on to manage the England Youth team from 1990 to 1997.

He had hoped to be a UK Independence Party candidate for next year's General Election.
