Santos joins Blades
George Santos
West Brom hoping that George Santos will stay on
George Santos has quit West Bromwich Albion to join Sheffield United.

Santos impressed at The Hawthorns after his move from Tranmere, but had refused to commit himself to an extended deal.

He joined The Blades in a double deal with Wolves veteran Keith Curle.

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock said: "Georges is someone I've chased for a while. He can play centre-half, centre-midfield and centre-forward and should put pressure on all three positions.

"Overall, though, he has nuisance value. We didn't have enough height in the team last season in certain games.

"Georges will help solve that problem. He'll be able to fit in here and there and should become an important part of the team."
