Jonathan Greening is almost certain to captain West Bromwich Albion next season after boss Tony Mowbray admitted he is not looking for a new skipper.
The 29-year-old led Albion to the Championship title in 2007/08 and Mowbray is happy for that to continue.
"Jonathan has the respect of the players because of his ability and the way he conducts himself," the Baggies boss told the club's official website.
"I don't envisage any changes and I'm not looking for another captain."
Greening, who joined Albion from Middlesbrough four years ago, became the first Baggies player to lift a Championship trophy in 88 years when they sealed their return to the Premier League in May.
And Mowbray is delighted with the qualities he brings to the club.
"He was given the captaincy last season because he brings just about everything I like in a footballer," he said.
"He is not hot-headed. He is very calm and, in his own way, shows great responsibility."
