Megson to probe 'bust-up'
West Brom boss Gary Megson
West Brom manager Gary Megson plans to get to the bottom of an incident on the team bus that flared up after the defeat at Liverpool on Saturday.

Some jokey behaviour allegedly got out of hand when defender Thomas Gaardsoe had water squirted in his face.

"There was an incident on the team bus," admitted Megson. "I shall be trying to find out what happened.

"I've given the players the day off on Monday so they can clear their minds and gather their thoughts."

Megson was not on the team coach when the incident erupted but was alerted to it when he rejoined his players for the trip back to The Hawthorns.

It is another headache for the 45-year-old, whose future at the club remains unclear following rumours of a rift with the board over cash for players and his own contract.

However, Megson has played down the reports and said: "There is no friction between myself and the board.

"I have read a lot but none of it is emanating from me. All I can do is my job.

"I do not know what my future is, I do not have a crystal ball, nobody does. Nothing has been said to me about my future."
