West Brom midfielder James Quinn has left The Hawthorns to join Dutch First Division club Willem II.

The 27-year-old has signed a four-year deal with Willem II, according to the Dutch club's official website.

Quinn was one of Denis Smith's earliest signings for the club back in February 1998.

He arrived from Blackpool in a 500,000 deal making 98 Albion appearances, with a total of 10 goals.

But his first-team chances have been limited at The Hawthorns and Gary Megson chose to make him available for transfer in February 2001.

He spent 18 months on the transfer list, spending time on loan at Notts County and Bristol Rovers in the English Second and Third Divisions.

Quinn burst on the international scene by scoring a tremendous goal for Northern Ireland in a friendly against Belgium in 1997.

However, the Irishman's career has also stalled at international level over the last two years, his last appearance coming as a substitute in Malta last October.
