Harley is looking forward to working with manager Boothroyd
Former Chelsea left-back Jon Harley has joined Watford after impressing during a pre-season trial.
The 29-year-old turned down a new contract at Burnley in the summer after a three-year spell at Turf Moor.
Harley has agreed a two-year deal at Vicarage Road and revealed manager Aidy Boothroyd had a major role to play in persuading him to join the club.
He told the club's website: "Aidy wants to play football the right way, and training has reflected that."
He added: "Everything he has done on the training side has been spot on from both him and the coaches. He has a very strong believe in instilling confidence in his players."
Meanwhile, Watford have released midfielder Douglas Rinaldi.
The 24-year-old Brazilian made only six league appearances for the Hornets after joining the club from Tottenham in January 2007.
