Hughes joins Vialli's Watford revolution
Midfielder Stephen Hughes has become new Watford boss Gianluca Vialli's latest signing after signing from Everton.

The England Under-21 international joins the club on a free transfer and will link up with former Arsenal colleague Paolo Vernazza.

"It wasn't a difficult decision to make," said Hughes, who is returning to London after leaving Arsenal in March 2000.

"I was very impressed when I met with Gianluca Vialli and Ray Wilkins, and they made it very obvious how ambitious Watford are.

"It also helped that I am moving back to an area I know very well.

"I know Paolo very well. We've been good friends for a few years now and I've kept in touch with him while I've been in the north," Hughes told Watford's official website.
