Walsall have signed Carlisle forward Jason Price on loan for a month, with a view to a permanent transfer.

The 33-year-old has already had a loan spell with Bradford this season, making 11 appearances and scoring once.

"I've just got to get games under my belt," Price told BBC WM. "My contract is up at the end of the season so I've got to get games and score goals."

The Saddlers have also confirmed that goalkeeper Jimmy Walker will remain at the club for the rest of the campaign.

Price made four substitute appearances for Carlisle at the start of the season and came off the bench to score in the 2-2 draw with Port Vale.

Walsall manager Dean Smith told BBC WM: "Jason's a player I've known for a number of years and he's one that seems to make an impact whichever club he goes into.

"We're hoping that we can get that impact from him straight away.

"He's a good front man, he can play on his own or in a two and we're looking for him to score goals."

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott told the club's website: "Jason is a fantastic lad and he's at a stage where he wants to be playing football.

"We're not in a position to guarantee first-team appearances at this moment in time, so this will keep him match-fit and hungry."

Price is likely to make his debut at home to fellow League One strugglers Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
