Walsall reject offer for Gerrard

Walsall have rejected a bid of £200,000 from Scunthorpe for defender Anthony Gerrard, who is set to join Cardiff.

"Walsall Football Club can confirm that a written offer from Scunthorpe United for Anthony Gerrard has been rejected," said a statement on the club's website.

"It does not meet our valuation of a player who is attracting plenty of interest elsewhere."

The 23-year-old has made 176 appearances for the Saddlers since joining from Everton in March 2005.
