Walsall have completed the signing of veteran ex-Liverpool, Aston Villa and Coventry defender Steve Staunton.
The Republic of Ireland international, 36, rejected the offer of a new contract with the Sky Blues.
"Steve is a vastly experienced player who I have played alongside and against many times," Saddlers player-boss Paul Merson told the club website.
"His presence will really help the young players here, and his arrival can only enhance the squad."
Meanwhile, the Saddlers have terminated the contract of 18-year-old striker Leroy Williams by mutual consent.
