Walsall have won the race to sign highly-rated Chippenham Town striker James Constable.
The 20-year-old, who had attracted the attention of a number of Football League clubs, has joined on loan ahead of a permanent move in January.
Constable has agreed a deal running until June 2007.
"He seems a determined and level-headed young man. This is a great opportunity for him to carve out a career in the game," Walsall boss Paul Merson said.
