Walsall get Taylor boost
Walsall have rewarded Daryl Taylor with a new contract following his impressive start to the season.

Former youth-team player Taylor signed his first professional deal in the summer.

But having scored three goals already this term, the 19-year-old midfielder has been given a 12-month extension to secure his services until June 2006.

"Daryl's form has been a real bonus. He has a big future ahead of him," boss Paul Merson told the club's website.

Defender Julian Bennett, 19, has agreed a similar deal after also claiming a first-team spot in the opening weeks of the season.
