Williams upsets Lee
Walsall boss Colin Lee has accused Paul Williams of "sneaking off" behind his back after the Southampton defender signed for Stoke.

Williams moved to Stoke on a two-year deal and is due to make his debut at Walsall's Bescot Stadium on Saturday.

"What really angers me is that it was Paul Williams who phoned me at the end of last season to ask if he could come to Walsall," Lee told the Express & Star.

"I have kept a position open for him for four months since then, cleared the way with Gordon Strachan at Southampton to speak to him - only to discover that he has sneaked off behind my back and signed for Stoke.

"It's clear to me Paul Williams has used me and Walsall to get himself out of Southampton and engineer another transfer.

"I am still waiting for two promised phonecalls from Paul Williams that have never materialised.

"I have no time for players who do not have the courtesy to let you know what they are doing."
