Goodman saddles up at Walsall

Don Goodman scored for Motherwell on Saturday
The Motherwell exodus continues with striker Don Goodman the latest player to say farewell to Fir Park.

The 34-year-old has signed for English Second Division side Walsall on a free transfer until the end of the season.

Goodman netted for Motherwell in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat by Rangers - his only goal in 21 appearances this season.

With Andy Goram leaving for the more glamorous surrounds of Old Trafford on Wednesday, John Spencer starting a new career in the USA and Ged Brannan, Lee McCulloch and Stephen McMillan all going to Wigan earlier this month, the Motherwell side will have a new look to it next season.

The Leeds-born Goodman boasts Bradford, West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland and Wolves among his former clubs, before a year in Japan with Sanfrecce Hiroshima and a loan spell with Barnsley before moving to Scotland.

Goodman moved from Sunderland to Wolves in 1994 for a fee of more than 1m.
