Thomas-Moore eager for Cup boost

Tranmere striker Ian Thomas-Moore says it is important for his side to build a platform with a victory over Leyton Orient in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Thomas-Moore believes the confidence at the club needs a lift after their 4-1 defeat by Swindon last week.

"I think the most important thing for us is to get the win," Thomas-Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"A big thing for us is confidence, and I keep going back to it - once we start winning games I think we'll be OK."

The experienced striker says the club can handle an FA Cup run as well as battling against the drop in the League One.

"I think at the moment, the way things are, I don't think they can get much worse," he continued.

"I think it's important for us to start getting a little bit of percentage play and start picking results up.

"If we don't start picking results up in the league, I think we're going to be in massive trouble."
