Tranmere Ladies seek new manager

Tranmere Rovers

Tranmere Rovers Ladies are searching for a new manager ahead of the new season as the club confirmed Shirley Waring has stepped down from the post.

Rovers start the new season on Sunday away at Scunthorpe and club secretary Louise Edwards is the interim manager.

Edwards told BBC Radio Merseyside: "Its been a difficult summer to be honest.

"Shirley Waring, who was the manager last season, has opted to step down. I've take it on board for the next couple of weeks until we find someone."

Rovers were relegated from the Premier League Northern Division last season and are hoping to bounce back at the first attempt, as they find themselves in the Northern Combination league.

It's a very demanding job and its needs someone with enthusiasm

Edwards admits its not a position that has any money attached, although she hopes someone who loves football will get involved with the club.

"It's a voluntary position and it's a job no-one gets paid for," Edwards continued.

"It's a very demanding job and its needs someone with enthusiasm."
