Kay orders Tranmere consistency

Tranmere Rovers captain Antony Kay believes consistency is key if his side are to force their way into the League One play-off picture.

Rovers' promotion hopes have been undermined by their home form, with the side having won just three league games at Prenton Park this season.

"Hopefully we can turn our inconsistent form into some consistency," Kay told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"We can definitely push into a play-off spot if we keep winning."

He added: "The teams that get promoted are somebody who goes on a run around Christmas time.

"In this league one team can always beat another, so If you can get consistency you can go far."

Kay believes the top sides in the Premier League have set a benchmark for the type of consistency his team-mates must strive for.

"If you look at the Premier League, the top four or five teams win constantly," he added.

"In League One and League Two everyone beats everyone, so we just need to be, that word again, consistent."
