Tranmere have signed Cardiff winger Kevin Cooper on a month's loan.
Cooper had loan spells at Yeovil and Walsall last season
The 32-year-old has been given permission to play for Rovers in the FA Cup first round on 10 November, even though he will become cup-tied.
"Steve Davies is a long-term absentee on the left, so Kevin will add balance to the side," Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore told his club's website.
"He is an experienced winger who likes to get the ball into the box and can take on defenders."
Davies was recently sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
Cooper has made nearly 350 league appearances for Derby, Stockport, Wimbledon, Wolves, Sunderland, Norwich, Cardiff, Yeovil and Walsall.
He joined the Bluebirds in the summer of 2005, but his last first-team appearance for them came in January 2007, and he was transfer-listed in the summer.
