Tranmere have been dealt a blow with the news that goalkeeper John Achterberg will be out of action for up to six weeks with a knee injury.
Achterberg picked up the injury in the defeat to Hull last weekend that also saw substitute keeper Russell Howarth sidelined with concussion.
Scans on the Dutchman's injury revealed medial collateral ligament damage.
However, Howarth has been given the all clear by doctors to face Barnsley on Boxing Day.
