Tranmere snap up Loran
Tranmere Rovers have strengthened their play-off challenge with the loan signing of Manchester City defender Tyrone Loran.

The 21-year-old will stay at Prenton Park for the rest of the season.

Loran joined City from Dutch club Volendram for 60,000 in August, but is yet to force his way into the first-team at Maine Road.

"He is a strong defender who can play at centre-half or full-back and will be an excellent addition to the squad," said manager Ray Mathias.

"This signing, along with Marvin Robinson (on loan from Derby), gives us cover now in a number of positions and continues the club's investment in the squad as we push towards the play-offs," Mathias told the club's website.
