Hill seals Oldham move
Tranmere defender Clint Hill
Clint Hill played 138 league games for Tranmere
Oldham Athletic have completed the 225,000 signing of Tranmere defender Clint Hill.

The 23-year-old centre-back has agreed a four-year deal at Boundary Park to become Iain Dowie's first signing as Latics boss.

"Clint is a physical player who has a sweet left foot and is also technically very good," Dowie told the Oldham website.

"He can pass the ball out of defence, which is what I want, and is a threat in both penalty boxes.

"He is a leader and a winner and I like his desire and drive.

"Clint was talked about as a future Premiership centre-half at one stage and I want to help him get back on that road again."

Hill, who started 138 league games for the Merseysiders, had been offered new terms at Tranmere but decided to turn them down and became a free agent.

Meanwhile, Oldham have called off a bid to sign Notts County midfielder Marcel Cas. The two clubs agreed a fee of 150,000 but Cas could not agree personal terms.
