Tottenham defender Dorian Dervite heads to Villareal

Dervite's only competitive appearance was a Carling Cup win over Port Vale

Defender Dorian Dervite is set to end his injury-hit Tottenham career with a move to Spanish side Villarreal.

The Frenchman has made only one first-team appearance for Spurs since signing from Lille in July 2006.

A serious knee injury soon after his move to England kept the 22-year-old out of action for almost a year.

Despite regular appearances for the reserves and a loan spell at Southend in 2009, Dervite could not force his way into boss Harry Redknapp's plans.
