Defoe is expected to rejoin Spurs less than a year after leaving for Pompey
Jermain Defoe will be welcomed back at White Hart Lane with "open arms", says former chairman of Tottenham Supporters Trust, Daniel Wynne.
The Portsmouth striker is expected to complete his transfer back to former club Spurs following a medical.
Wynne told BBC London 94.9: "He's going to get a great reception. He got a great reception from Spurs fans at Portsmouth earlier this season.
"He will absolutely be welcomed back with open arms."
Defoe was signed by Harry Redknapp, who is now Spurs boss but was then in charge of Portsmouth, in January 2008, and has scored 17 goals in 36 appearances for Pompey.
The deal is worth about £15m and Defoe is expected to sign a five-year contract.
