Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas is backing Dimitar Berbatov to fire Tottenham to a glorious cup double.

The striker scored two superb goals against Braga to put Spurs in Friday's Uefa Cup quarter-final draw and Jenas says he is the key to their success.

The England star told BBC Sport: "Berbatov is on fire at the minute.

"His partnership with Robbie Keane is blossoming and with him on this form we've got a great chance of winning at least one cup this season."

Berbatov's double at White Hart Lane on Wednesday took his tally for the season to 19 and his deadly finishing has left the Bulgarian's team-mates purring with approval.

Jenas said: "He's brilliant to play with. He's the kind of player you give the ball to, he'll hold on to it, you run by him and he'll find you.

"He's a great asset to the team. He's not only scoring goals but he's working hard for the team as well, getting back when he has to and getting his rewards up the other end.

"It's never easy when you're coming from abroad and it's very difficult to adapt straight away, but he's done it quicker than most and now he just needs to maintain the form he's in.

It would be nice to have a bit of silverware in the cabinet at the end of the season

"I suppose the better he plays the more chance there is of him being linked with other clubs, but I'd sooner have him playing well.

"If he did want to go that would be up to him but he's very happy at the moment and wants to stay."

Jenas, speaking at the launch of Puma's new range of Mongolian BBQ footwear, has struggled with injury this season but he hopes to be fit to face Watford in the Premiership on Saturday and can't wait to get back into action.

He said: "We're scoring a lot of goals right through the team and entertaining the fans and after Wednesday's performance I think we can definitely go on and win the Uefa Cup now.

"I've said all along it's a competition we're capable of winning. We're up there with the best teams in the tournament and as long as we play well on the day we've got nothing to fear.

"We've also got an FA Cup quarter-final replay coming up against Chelsea but we're feeling very strong as a unit and the confidence is running through the team.

"It would be nice to have a bit of silverware in the cabinet at the end of the season, not only for the players but to give the fans something to celebrate."
