Bulgaria international striker Dimitar Berbatov enjoyed a first run-out in Tottenham colours as his new club beat Bordeaux 2-1 in a pre-season friendly.
Berbatov, a £10.9m signing, went close in the second half when he cracked a snap-shot wide and saw a clean strike smothered by keeper Mathieu Valverde.
Fellow striker Jermain Defoe gave Spurs the lead when he was played in by Danny Murphy, before Bordeaux equalised.
Substitute Kieran McKenna secured the win with a late, floated header.
Tottenham's tour of France also includes outings against Nice in Thonon on Friday and Spanish side Celta Vigo on Tuesday 18 July.
