Tottenham linked to Davids
Edgar Davids
Davids could be on his way to the Premiership
Tottenham have reportedly offered Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids a 6m two-year deal to join them.

The London Evening Standard newspaper claims that Spurs' new technical director, Frank Arnesen, has made the Dutch international a top target.

Davids is available on a free transfer after failing to agree a deal with Barcelona, where he has been on loan.

Davids' agent, Robert Geerling, admitted the player had received a "huge" offer from an English club.

Spurs were close to signing Davids during the January transfer window but he chose to move from Juventus to the Nou Camp on loan until the end of the season.

Despite Davids' good form at the Catalan giants, Geerling confirmed: "There is no agreement with Barcelona.

"The offer did not interest him and no other meeting is planned. We have a great offer from England," Geerling said.

Media speculation has also linked Chelsea and Bolton with Davids.

But a Bolton spokesman told BBC Sport on Wednesday: "It is pure speculation, we don't know where this story has come from.

"We are interested in any quality players that become available but there has been no move made for Davids."
