Tottenham have signed China international striker Qu Bo for 2m, subject to a work permit.

Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle, who has been chasing Real Madrid's 15m-rated Spanish forward Fernando Morientes, has swooped after the 21-year-old impressed during a two-week trial at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have agreed a 2m fee with Bo's Chinese club Qingdao Yizhong which will see the striker - who has agreed personal terms - become a Tottenham player if he can obtain a work permit.

Bo has 19 caps for China and featured in all three of his country's World Cup matches this summer.

Tottenham boss Glenn Hoddle earlier admitted that Bo has settled in well.

"He's come over and adjusted very well to be fair to him," Hoddle told BBC Sport Online.

"He has been bubbly and smiling from the first day and has earned the respect of the players in training very quickly."
