Spurs fans see red over logo
![]() Spurs club badge does feature a splash of red
Tottenham fans have reacted with fury to news that a logo in red - the colour
of north London rivals Arsenal - will feature on the team's shirts next season.
Tottenham, who have signed a new sponsorship deal with holiday company Thomson, tried to play down the controversy by saying that red featured in the club crest.
But season-ticket holder Paul Bowman said: "It's outrageous that red will appear on our shirts. "There is no tradition of red within the club and this is a club that thrives on tradition. "Red is an Arsenal colour. "Our colours are predominantly white and dark blue. Fans will not like this." Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said: "Red has been part of our crest for 20 years. This sponsorship deal is terrific for the fans and the club." Tottenham's multi-million pound deal with holiday giants Thomson - whose colour has always been red - is the biggest in their history. The holiday company's re-branded `smile' logo will replace `Holsten' on the front of Spurs shirts for the next two seasons. And as part of the deal Tottenham fans will receive exclusive offers from Thomson.
