Torquay will let Platts go

Midfielder Mark Platts is going back to the north after being released from his contract by Torquay.
The player cited personal reasons for wanting to quit Plainmoor and go back to his own part of the world. Chairman Mike Bateson said "We have agreed to his request for a release and he goes with our best wishes. Meanwhile, the Gulls' cash reserves have been boosted by the third £100,000 instalment of the agreed £400,000 fee from Crystal Palace for Matthew Gregg.
