Torquay United manager Paul Buckle has turned down an offer for leading scorer Elliot Benyon from an unnamed League One side.
The 23-year-old striker has netted eight goals in the league, and one in the FA Cup so far this season.
Buckle told BBC Radio Devon: "Elliot's shown he can score goals at this level on a consistent basis and that's catching the eye of teams above us.
"Unless we get the right offer for him he'll stay here."
Buckle added: "We won't stand in anybody's way, we're a club that lets players move on, but it has to suit all three parties."
Since signing from Bristol City in June 2007, Benyon has played 116 games for the Devon outfit, scoring 34 goals.
The striker signed a new deal at Plainmoor at the start of 2010 which expires at the end of the current season.
