Torquay United came from behind to beat Championship side Bristol City at Plainmoor on Wednesday.
After a goalless first-half, City took the lead on 55 minutes through striker David Clarkson.
Paul Buckle's men were quickly back on level terms, however, as Lee Mansell latched on to a Chris Zebroski pass to direct the ball into the net.
The Gulls kept pushing forward and were rewarded with a winner from Mark Ellis on 75 minutes.
Torquay's next pre-season encounter is at home to Yeovil Town on Saturday, 31 July.
