Torquay have signed out-of-contract Exeter City winger Wayne Carlisle.
The 28-year-old rejected an improved contract at St James Park to move down the A380 and join up with ex-Grecians assistant Paul Buckle on a free.
Carlisle was influential in City's second-leg win over Torquay in the Blue Square play-offs earlier this month.
He told the Gulls website: "Paul is a good manager. I like what I saw last year, although the team just missed out on the success everyone wanted."
He continued: "Hopefully I can play a part in bringing that success next season."
Carlisle snubbed interest from other clubs because he is settled in the area and is the fourth summer addition to the Gulls midfield, following the arrivals of Tyrone Thompson, Michale Brough and Nicky Wroe.
