Torquay boss Paul Buckle hailed Bashley after their BGB Southern Premier Division opponents made the Gulls work hard for their 1-0 FA Trophy win.
"You have to give Bashley a lot of credit - they got bodies in the way and their goalkeeper has had a fantastic game," Buckle said.
"I will never blame people for missing chances, especially with all the goals we have scored this year.
"But I think we can play a lot better, that's for sure."
