Former Torquay midfielder Jason Fowler insists he has "not one regret" about his time at Plainmoor after retiring from the game last week.
Fowler made over 100 appearances in three years at Torquay
The ex-Cardiff and Bristol City man had to quit because of a hip problem.
"Football is a great career, although Torquay didn't see the best of me, and that's frustrating," Fowler, 30, told the Herald Express.
"Hearing the specialist recommend that I retire, it took a while to deal with it but I've got my head around it now."
He added: "The players at Torquay have been the best bunch of lads I've played with. I have made some great friends here.
"It's a very friendly club, from the chairman right down through all the staff.
"At Cardiff and Bristol, there was a lot of big egos and little cliques in the dressing-room, but here there's never been any trouble."
