Phillips is set to sign for Torquay
Martin Phillips has agreed terms for a one-year contract with Torquay United.

The midfielder was released by Plymouth at the end of last season - ending a four-year spell at Home Park - but had been training with the Gulls.

Phillips, 30, began his career with Exeter before playing for Manchester City, Portsmouth and Plymouth.

Gulls boss Leroy Rosenior said: "Martin is just the sort of player we are looking for and he has experience at playing at the highest level."

Rosenior added: "He has been training with us and fits in really well with the rest of the lads, many of whom he knows anyway."
