Torquay sign French midfielder

Another one arrives at Torquay

Third Division strugglers Torquay have recruited Frenchman Khalid Chalqi but the club have yet to obtain clearance for the midfielder to play against Plymouth.

Chalqi is an attack-minded player and has impressed sufficiently in a trial period at the club to warrant a permanent contract which runs until 2002.

The 27-year-old arrived back at Torquay this week after discussions with his former club Creteil about being released from his contract with them.
