Mills hit three goals in his first six Telford games

AFC Telford have signed former Derby winger Greg Mills, 20, but sent him on an intensive training programme to get himself fully fit.

He will spend a week at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall as well as training in the evening with the Bucks.

Mills had two loan spells at Telford last term, helping them to promotion from the Blue Square Bet North.

"We want him fit and able to reproduce the form of when he first came to us," said assistant boss Darren Read.

"Early last season he was on fire for us," Read told BBC Radio Shropshire.

Mills, who will be 21 in September, played 30 games for the Bucks, scoring six goals.

He returned to parent club Derby at the end of last season, but was released by the Championship side in the summer.

He hoped to attract the interest of Football League sides, but with nothing forthcoming he went back to Telford manager Andy Sinton to ask for another chance.

Sinton has signed him on a 12-month deal, but insisted he underwent a rigorous personal training programme to get himself fully fit.
