Contract hope for Fowler
Telford manager Jake King is hoping Lee Fowler can play a key role at the Bucks Head next season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.
The long-serving defender is to start a rehabilitation programme at Lilleshall and provided he comes through unscathed will be offered a new contract. King said: "His operation went very well. We've had a good report from the specialist and we're waiting for further reports from Lilleshall.
"Hopefully he will get the all-clear to start training with us in the next three or four weeks. "If everything goes okay I'm hoping to re-sign him and he will be a major re-signing for me. "We've got to make sure everything is alright but I'm desperate to sign him. He's one of the most reliable in the Conference and a good tough defender." Fowler, who joined Telford in 1996, could help fill the gap left by the departure of centre-backs Neil Moore, Jim Bentley and Mark Albrighton. King is on the look-out for new signings but missed out on ex-Shrewsbury Town defender Andrew Tretton, who has joined Conference rivals Hereford United.
