Wilson is happy for Swindon to be cast as underdogs at Wembley

Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson has paid tribute to the club's fans who he hopes will cheer them to victory in Saturday's League One play-off final.

The Robins have already sold more than 30,000 tickets for the game against Millwall at Wembley.

"The proudest moment, from my point of view, is when you see that 30,000 mark hit," Wilson told BBC Points West.

"I'm proud that they have had a belief in us and they've been able to push us on to great things."

Swindon's allocation for the match, which will decide who takes the final place in the Championship next season, is 36,700 but the club's home average attendance is around 8,000.

We're playing against a very tough and well organised side. It's a massive ask for us that's for sure

"We've spoken all season about the fact that, over a period of time, the crowds have been growing consistently," added Wilson. "They've helped to get us to where we are."

Meanwhile the former Barnsley and Bristol City boss is happy for his team to be cast as the bookmakers' underdogs for Saturday's showpiece.

"I don't think we're favourites in any way," he added.

"We're playing against a very tough and well organised side. It's a massive ask for us that's for sure but one I'm sure we can overcome."
