Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson has praised the form of strikers Billy Paynter and Charlie Austin.

Paynter, 25, has found the net on 16 occasions while Austin, 20, has scored nine times in 12 league outings.

Wilson told BBC Points West: "They're fantastic. Billy and Charlie are both banging them in.

"Earlier in the season we were a little bit, toothless is not the right word, but we weren't creating the chances and putting them in."

Wilson continued: "Certainly going forward we're looking a lot more menacing this now.

"He does get a lot of chances, Billy, because he gets himself in good positions.

The pleasing thing is their goals and they are strikers' goals

"But what he's doing now is showing more composure in there where as before he might get a couple of chances and snatch at them.

"And with Charlie the understanding is growing and they are getting themselves in good positions.

"But the pleasing thing is their goals and they are strikers' goals."

Wilson has boosted his striking options recently by signing Vincent Pericard from Carlisle on an 18-month deal.

Swindon are currently in fifth spot in League One after beating Leeds 3-0 at the County Ground on Tuesday.
