Swindon Town's on-loan midfielder Simon Ferry says he wants to remain at the club beyond his current deal which is due to end on 2 January.
The 21-year-old has been an ever-present in League One since his arrival from Celtic at the end of August.
"The manager wants me to stay and I want to stay definitely," Ferry told BBC Wiltshire.
"If Celtic agree to it, my agent has spoken to them, I'll hopefully find out by next week."
Ferry admitted the attraction of playing regular first-team football is behind his desire to remain at the County Ground.

"This is the first team I've played week-in, week-out for years.
"Being at Celtic in the reserve league you could not have a game for three weeks at times and then two in one week", he added.
"That's what I've enjoyed about being here. Everything is built towards a game on a Saturday and that's what I want to be doing."
The Robins face a long trip to Carlisle on Saturday and Ferry is expecting them to get a positive result.
"I think we've been doing quite well away from home so I think we go into every game trying to win it.
"But I think if we get a point anywhere away from home in this league it's not a bad result."
