Swansea's Shaun MacDonald wants future resolved

Wales Under-21 captain Shaun MacDonald is hoping to have his long-term club future resolved as soon as possible.

The Swansea City midfielder's contract runs out at the end of the season and he is in his second spell on loan at League One side Yeovil Town.

"Swansea is my home town club but it's difficult to say I definitely want to stay when I don't know what the club is thinking," said MacDonald, 21.

"Hopefully, Swansea will let me know soon."

MacDonald has been at the club since the age of nine and made his full league debut for the Swans in 2006/7.

But he has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place racking up 35 appearances for the Liberty Stadium side, including three in the Championship this season.

MacDonald has scored twice for the Glovers since joining on loan in September and has been a key figure in Terry Skiverton's midfield.

"I have really enjoyed my time at Yeovil and the manager has just encouraged me to go out there and express myself," he said.

"At the same time, I have become a more disciplined player having now settled in a central midfield role and understanding my defensive duties.

"I want to feel part of someone's immediate and long term plans so I can settle down. It is hard living out of a suitcase and if I settle down, my football will get even better."
