Swansea City have completed the double swoop for Spanish duo Jordi Gomez and Gorka Pintado in a joint 300,000 deal.

Highly-rated midfielder Gomez, 23, has joined on a season-long loan from the La Liga side Espanyol.

And 30-year-old Pintado has agreed a long-term contract after signing from Segunda B side Granada.

"We have captured two quality signings," said boss Roberto Martinez. "They've got Championship quality written all over them."

He added: "We've been watching the two players for the last two seasons and I'm absolutely delighted we've managed to persuade them to commit to Swansea City."

Both players flew in from Spain to finalise contract details at the Liberty Stadium on Thursday night before joining Swansea's Spanish revolution.

The Swans paid around 100,000 plus further additions for Pintado, who is known as the Spanish Bull.

The 5ft 11in powerhouse striker scored 52 goals in the last three seasons at Granada where he was club captain.

"Gorka has goals in his blood and is someone who becomes a fans' favourite straight away," said Martinez.

"His goalscoring record is really good and he is a real finisher; tactically very aware, aggressive and as strong as a bull.

"Now he is determined to become fully attached to Swansea City and win the hearts of the fans over here.''

Gomez's loan deal is worth almost 200,000 after the Swans had to fight off competition from three La Liga sides for his signature.

"Jordi can play in many positions and is very, very clever tactically and he gives us other options," Martinez added.

"He's got great control, technical ability and never gives the ball away. And having scored 10 goals from midfield last season, he's also a clinical finisher around the box.''

Gomez made three appearances for Espanyol in La Liga last season after signing a three-year contract with the club from Barcelona B, where he had spent the previous three seasons.

The pair take Roberto Martinez's Spanish contingent in the squad to five joining trio Angel Rangel, Guillem Bauza and Andrea Orlandi at the Liberty Stadium.
