Roberto Martinez celebrates after clinching the League One title
Roberto Martinez says Swansea City's dream came true after clinching the League One title thanks to Carlisle's defeat by Southend.
The Swans lost 2-1 at home to Yeovil, but Carlisle needed at a least draw to keep the title challenge alive.
"We didn't get the result we wanted today but overall after 44 games we got what we wanted in terms of our dream," said Swans boss Martinez.
"Only one team can win the title and this is special."
The Swans clinched promotion with a 2-1 win away at Gillingham last weekend and knew another win would hand them the title.
But with supporters ready for disappointment following a poor display at the Liberty Stadium, news of Carlisle's result filtered through prompting chants of: "Championi, ole, ole, ole".
"It's not many times you have won the title," said Martinez.
