Swansea have moved to sign Lee Thorpe permanently after the Bristol Rovers striker impressed while on loan.
Swansea hope Lee Thorpe will solve their striker problems
Thorpe, 29, initially joined on loan in time to play at Mansfield on Tuesday night and came on as a substitute, but has now landed an 18-month deal.
Meanwhile, central defender Garry Monk has been given a three-match ban following his red card at Mansfield.
It is the third time Monk has been sent off this season and the suspension starts at Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Goalkeeper Willy Gueret and Andy Gurney - who can play in defence and midfield - are doubtful for the Orient match.
Both players missed the defeat at Mansfield because of injuries, Gueret has a calf strain and Gurney has a shin problem.
Thorpe has made more than 300 league appearances for clubs including Grimsby, Lincoln and Welsh Premier outfit Bangor City, scoring 70 goals.
