Swans make double swoop
Alan Tate
Tate has had two loan spells at the Vetch
Alan Tate has completed his move from Manchester United to Swansea City.

Tate has already spent two loan spells with Swansea and has now signed a two-and-a-half year contract.

The 21-year-old still has to undergo a medical on Saturday, but he has gone straight into the squad for the home match against Torquay.

Swansea have also extended Andy Robinson's contract. The midfielder, who was given a 12-month deal in July, has signed a new two-year deal.

Tate revealed he had turned down offers from First and Second Division clubs to join Swansea, and agreed to lower his financial demands to close the deal.

"I realised there was no-one else I'd rather play for," he told BBC Sport.

Robinson has scored seven goals for the Swans this season, including a spectacular free-kick in the FA Cup win against Preston last month.

He was released by Tranmere after just one season last year, but Swansea boss Brian Flynn decided to take a chance on him after Robinson impressed on trail.

"I knew I had the ability in me," Robinson said. "It just needed the right person to push me and with Brian Flynn I've got that.

"He lets me express myself and that's what I've been doing this season. I've loved it from the first day I came down here and I'm still loving it now."
