Promotion-chasing Swansea City have signed Hartlepool goalkeeper Anthony Williams on a month's loan.

He been brought in to cover Brian Murphy's absence during the Fifa World Youth Championships with the Republic of Ireland.

Williams was born in Maesteg and started his career as a trainee at Blackburn Rovers.

The former Wales under-21 international has started 131 league games for Pools since joining the club from Blackburn.

However, he lost his place to Jim Provett at the start of the season and manager Neale Cooper has allowed the 26-year-old to move to the Vetch Field to play first-team football.
