Addison moves to Newport
Former Swansea boss Colin Addison has joined Newport County as assistant manager.

Addison, 62, has signed a one-year contract as the Exiles look to better last season's seventh place in the Dr Marten's Premier Division.

"At this stage of my life, this is the right move for me," said Addison, whose 30-year managerial career has taken in the likes of Atletico Madrid, Derby County and WBA.

"I've done a lot of travelling over the years, but this is a challenge I can't resist."

It will be Addison's third spell in Newport after managing the town's Football League in 1978-79 and 1982-85 before they were wound up in 1989.

Manager Tim Harris said: "Colin's experience can help fulfil the dreams of everyone at Newport County and get us into the Conference."
